Attorneys Advocating For Motorcyclist Rights And Safety

Motorcyclists make up a minority of motor vehicle operators on the road, but they suffer injuries and deaths at much higher rates than almost any other travelers. This disparity can only be partly explained by the fact that motorcycles are smaller and offer less protection than cars.

The truth is that motorcyclists do not receive the attention, care or deference that they deserve from other drivers, and that leaves them at great risk for harm. At Accident Fighters, APC, we understand the dangers and frustrations that motorcyclists face, and we are here to help. If you’ve been seriously injured by a negligent driver, we want to hear from you.

Common Motorcycle Accident Scenarios

There are seemingly endless ways in which motorcyclists can be harmed or killed in accidents. Below are some of the most common scenarios:

  • Left-turn accidents: A car or truck attempts to make a left turn across oncoming traffic while a motorcyclist is approaching. The driver of the larger vehicle either fails to see the motorcyclists or misjudges how far away he is. The motorcyclist has no time to stop and broadsides the turning vehicle.
  • Side-swiping collisions: Striking a motorcyclist while passing because the driver didn’t leave enough room
  • Rear-end collisions: Either ramming into the back of a motorcycle or causing a motorcyclist to ram into the back of a larger vehicle by stopping or slowing unexpectedly
  • Lane-splitting accidents: Lane splitting is legal in California, but drivers often make sudden lane changes or open their vehicle doors and end up striking a passing motorcyclist.

We Help You Battle Against Motorcyclist Bias

Unfortunately, a strong bias against motorcyclists persists among drivers and even among insurance company employees. There is a misperception (despite plenty of evidence to the contrary) that motorcyclists are reckless and dangerous and, therefore, usually at fault for their own injuries.

This is an unfair obstacle that motorcycle accident victims often find themselves facing, but our firm is ready to help them fight it. We collect all available evidence and even perform accident reconstructions to demonstrate that another driver was at fault for your injuries. We will also take care to highlight the ways in which you don’t fit stereotypes, including a clean riding record and the use of all necessary safety equipment when riding.
